Hundreds take part in Tattenhall test
Runners from across the region and beyond headed to Cheshire last month to tackle the Tattenhall Runners Tough Team Race.
Wrexham AC trio Daniel Weston, Ryan Davies and Darren Rowlands recorded a time of 59.08 minutes to complete the nine-mile course. Following on close behind with a time of 60.24 were Buckley Runners, Jez Brown, Phil Pumford and Chris Myles.
It’s a tough call for the teams of three competing in the race, with 300m of climb over the nine miles its not for the faint hearted.
Starting off on roads up to Burwardsley, once runners got past The Pheasant Inn the route took them off onto the trails, to the infamous railway track where the Grim Reaper is on hand to help at the top.
The trails continue for another couple of miles before the runners reach the green fields and the view over Cheshire.
Once the fields are reached it is only a matter of time before the course makes its descent back onto the lanes and the road home.
Vale Royal AC took the ladies team place, with Helen Harrington, Gemma Barnet and Kate Moulds navigating the course in 69.30 minutes.
A total of 221 runners completed the course and once back chilli was served and a well deserved cold drink.
